Postdoctoral Research Assistant on Laser-Plasma Acceleration and Development of Compact Light Sources

The John Adams Institute for Accelerator Science, hosted by the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford, the Department of Physics at Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL), and the Department of Physics of the Imperial College London is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral research assistant to work in Oxford on research in the area of laser plasma acceleration and on development of compact light sources.

The John Adams Institute, one of the world leading centres in accelerator physics, is focusing on the areas of synergy between the physics of lasers, plasmas, and accelerators with the objective of developing novel advanced compact light sources and FELs. The successful candidate will be involved in development of light sources driven by laser-accelerated beams via analytical studies, simulation, and experimental research.

The successful candidate will be employed by the University of Oxford for a fixed-term of 2 years in the first instance.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in accelerator physics, laser or plasma physics, or a related field.
