General terms: Early-stage researchers (ESR) employed within the AMVA4NewPhysics network will receive training in particle physics, statistics, and advanced machine learning tools. They will attend secondments at industrial partners for 3 months, to CERN for at least two months, to other institutes for typically three additional months. They will follow at least 9 international events organized by the network or by affiliated entities. They will usually receive a Ph.D. in Physics or Statistics at the end of a 3-year program. Economical conditions depends slightly on the country of recruitment as per EU rules; the gross salary is roughly of 3110 eur/month, with a further mobility allowance of 600 eur/month, and a family allowance of 500 eur/month. Tuition fees and travel costs will be sustained by the hosting institution.

Open calls are evidenced in red below. At present there are TWO open calls.

- One Ph. D. position is now open at the Department of Statistical Science of the University of Padova, to develop new algorithms for Machine Learning. The call is open till September 27th 2015. A final selection of candidates will be made on October 1st to 3rd. The call is available on the Euraxess portal (call ID: 34027621), or on the web page of the UNIPD PI Giovanna Menardi.

- One ESR position is now open at the INFN - sezione di Padova, to perform research with the CMS experiment (Higgs physics) within the networks' activities. The successful applicant will start the Ph.D. program in Physics at the University of Padova in December 2015 (call open until September 30th 2015). The gross salary is of euro 3318 per month, plus a mobility allowance of euro 600/month and a family allowance of euro 500/month (if applicable). For details please see the call for applications and the application form (pdf version) (Word doc version). For further information please contact the INFN PI Tommaso Dorigo (dorigo(at)pd(dot)infn(dot)it).

- One Ph.D. position at the Department of Physics of the University of Oxford, to perform research with the ATLAS experiment (Higgs physics) within the network's activities. Position to start in October 2015 (call open August and September). More information to appear here soon.

- One Ph.D. position at the CP3 (center for particle physics and phenomenology) of the Université catholique de Louvain, in Louvain-la-Neuve, to perform research in particle physics phenomenology within the networks' activities. Position to start in November-December 2015 (call open August to October). More information to appear here soon.

- One Ph.D. position at LIP - Laboratório de Instrumentação e Física Experimental de Partículas in Lisbon, to perform research in Higgs physics with the CMS experiment within the network's activities. Position to start in December 2015 (call open August to November). More information to appear here soon.

- One 36-months position for a student already enrolled in a Ph.D. program at another institute, to work at the CERN laboratories in Geneva, Switzerland, and perform research on new physics searches with the CMS experiment within the network's activities. Position to start in January 2016 (call open October to December 2015). More information to appear here soon.

- More positions will open in the spring and summer of 2016.
