position for a fulltime associate C (junior scientist) in the area of experimental physics of High Energy.-UNAM

The department of High Energy of the Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City opens a position for a fulltime associate C (junior scientist) in the area of experimental physics of High Energy. The candidate should have less than 36 years old at the date of the present call.
The candidate will have a wide interest in the measurement, analysis and interpretation of collisions of protons, and heavy ions to integrate the group which is involved in the ALICE experiment

European School in Instrumentation for Particle and Astroparticle Physics (ESIPAP) in Archamps, march 2014

The European School in Instrumentation for Particle and Astroparticle Physics (ESIPAP) is opening.
The organization of  ESIPAP is very similar to that of JUAS, the Joint University Accelerator School.
Like JUAS, it will be based at ESI in Archamps (France) next to Geneva.

Although ESIPAP was founded by the laboratory of excellence ENIGMASS, it will recruit worldwide
Master and Ph.D. students as long as professionals seeking continuing education in instrumentation.

Workshop on Heavy Flavor Correlations in Nuclear Collisions

Dear colleagues,

we would like to announce a workshop dedicated to heavy-flavour correlations in heavy-ion and

pp collisions in Bergen (Norway) at the beginning of October (2.-4.).

The goal of the workshop is to have an informal discussion among theorists and experimental

physicists to understand what can be learnt by studying heavy-flavour correlations in pp and

heavy-ion collisions (https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=261999).

Forum on Tracking Detector Mechanics, CERN 3-4 July 2012

This is the first announcement for the 'Forum on Tracking Detector Mechanics' to be held at CERN, 3-4 July 2012 in the BE Auditorium, Room 6-2-024. It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you at CERN to this event.

The goal of this forum is an exchange of experience obtained during the design, construction installation of the current LHC tracking detectors. Evaluation of where ample or insufficient emphasis was put, problems encountered as well as excellent solutions found in order to improve performance and reliability of future tracking detectors.
