PhD on Nuclear Physics on the MFT of ALICE

Submitted by alicesec on
The ALICE experiment (LHC, CERN), designed to study Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP), is presently under upgrade in order to prepare the next data taking scheduled in 2021. The Muon Forward Tracker (MFT) is part of the new upgrades to be installed. It is a cone-shape telescope build out of silicon pixel sensors of a new kind of technology: MAPS (Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor). Those sensors are distributed on 10 half-disks surrounding the beam pipe and located in front of the frontal absorber of the ALICE muon spectrometer.
