- Proximeters at CERN: Proximeter use becomes mandatory as of Monday, 1 March.
Don’t forget to exchange your Proximeter for one with a firmware upgrade that improves security, usability and functionality. The exchange started on 22 February. It will take about a month to exchange all the devices currently in circulation. Until you get your new device, you should continue to use the one you already have.
- Proximeter Training: The online course “COVID-19 - Proximeter & Contact Tracing” is available via the Safety Training catalogue on CERN’s Learning Hub. To enroll, click here.
- Update on the COVID19 Guidelines: https://hse.cern/covid-19-information
Frequently Asked Questions: COVID FAQ page.
New this week:
- The Swiss list of at-risk countries has been updated on 25 February: link here.
- From 1 March, shops, museums and library reading rooms will be allowed to reopen in Switzerland, as well as outside spaces at zoos and botanical gardens, and at sports and leisure facilities. Private outdoor events for up to 15 people will also be permitted. For full details, see the Swiss Federal council’s press release: https://www.admin.ch/gov/en/start/documentation/media-releases/media-re…. Meetings at CERN remain limited to a maximum of five people. If you need to organise an in-person meeting, please also remember to check the current capacity of the meeting room you plan to use.
- 10 days remain the official duration at CERN for the preventive quarantine.
- France has recently introduced a 17-day quarantine for people living under the same roof as someone who has tested positive. Close contacts shall take a test as soon as they are identified as a close contact and another at the end of the quarantine period. This rule is also applicable at CERN and the CERN instructions on COVID-19-related health and safety measures have been updated accordingly: link here.
- CERN rules on travel quarantine: Quarantine for those returning from travel may be reduced to seven days on presentation of a negative RT-PCR test conducted at least seven days after return.
For any information and support regarding the quarantine period contact ALICE-covid19-coordination@cern.ch<
- ALICE secretariat opening next week: Tuesday, 2 March from 8h30 to 12h30 and from 13h30 to 17h30.
Nathalie, Guylaine & Julia remain available by phone and e-mail.
