NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Proximeters at CERN: Don’t forget to exchange your Proximeter for one with a firmware upgrade that improves security, usability and functionality. The exchange started on 22 February.
- Outdoor gatherings at CERN: All gatherings outside are limited to 6 people in France and 15 people in Switzerland. At CERN, outdoor gatherings should be avoided, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t meet up for coffee with a colleague or two. If you do, you must follow all necessary hygiene measures, and notably respect two-meter social distancing whenever masks are not being worn. The Proximeter will help you achieve this if you are gathering on the CERN sites.
- Anti-COVID apps in the Host States: Both Host States have deployed apps to help them break chains of transmission. To download the French app, search for TousAntiCovid, to download the Swiss one look for SwissCovid. In addition, a new app in Switzerland, NotifyMe (https://notify-me.ch/en/), has been designed to complement SwissCovid by notifying people who may have been contaminated at an event.
- Update on the COVID19 Guidelines: https://hse.cern/covid-19-informationFrequently Asked Questions: COVID FAQ page.
New this week:
- The Swiss list of at-risk countries (valid from 8 March): link here.
- 10 days remain the official duration at CERN for the preventive quarantine.
- CERN rules on travel quarantine: Quarantine for those returning from travel may be reduced to seven days on presentation of a negative RT-PCR test conducted at least seven days after return.
For any information and support regarding the quarantine period contact ALICE-covid19-coordination@cern.ch
- ALICE secretariat opening next week: Wednesday 10 March from 8h30 to 12h30 and from 13h30 to 17h30.
Nathalie, Guylaine & Julia remain available by phone and e-mail.
