    • Teleworking framework at CERN has been extended until 16 April: The EDH Absence Request must be completed in advance, selecting Teleworking (occasional), and making the request for a two-week period.
       
    • Access to CERN for over age over 65 is still not permitted even for those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine (unless their presence has been formally requested by the Organization).
       
    • New measures in France announced on 18 March: details in the website here.
       
    • Measures in Switzerland: details in the website here.

  • ALICE secretariat opening next week: Wednesday 24 March from 8h30 to 12h30 and from 13h30 to 17h30.

      NEWS FROM POINT 2

      Surface commissioning, commissioning at P2 and lab. and remote commissioning are progressing well for all central and subsystems.
      The main highlights of this week:

      • ITS: Outer Barrel top and bottom installation ongoing.
         
      • MFT: Service installation and commissioning activities ongoing. X-ray data taking with full FLPs was successful.
         
      • TPC: X-ray data taking campaign completed successfully. Data from high frequency current meter recorded. Pulsar system is under commissioning.
         
      • MCH: Station 3 & 5 commissioning ongoing. Last two quadrants for station 1 will be brought to CERN this Wednesday.
         
      • Milestone Week 3: ongoing : https://indico.cern.ch/event/1017934/. A lot of progress is being made in the O2 and subsystem readout integration.
         
      • TPC & TOF:  Clear track associations between TPC & TOF from combined cosmic runs are seen.

          OUTREACH NEWS

          • All CERN, group guided tours on site are cancelled until the end of June 2021 at least. Public exhibitions (Microcosm and Universe of Particles), as well as the shop (apart from our Click and Collect offer for CERN Community), also remain closed until further notice.
             
          • ALICE Virtual visits are announced in the official CERN catalogue: https://visit.cern/virtual
             
          • Open Virtual visits to ALICE (for the general public) have been recently launched. Guides willing to help, either from CERN at Point 2 or from remote locations, please contact alice-outreach-virtual-visits@cern.ch.

                      Next open visits on Monday 22 March in Italian (indico link) and Tuesday 30 March in English (indico link).

              • ALICE Masterclasses were recently held by Sao Paolo USP together with Luanda (Angola), Bologna, Salerno, Trieste, Thessaloniki, Chania, Mexico UNAM, Frankfurt, GSi Darmstadt and Münster.
              • Weekly activities open to everyone at CERN: from relaxing coffee meetings to High Intensity Training. CERN colleagues have put together a series of activities to help us stay connected in these challenging times. Find out what's coming up in the link here.
