Creighton University has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral researcher to join our high-energy nuclear physics group within the ALICE Collaboration.  The Creighton group specializes in the study of ultra-peripheral heavy ion collision and detector controls. This position involves physics analysis work on ultra-peripheral collisions of nuclei collected by the ALICE experiment, and detector support for the ALICE EMCal. Responsibilities include data analysis and publication of results, collaboration service work, mentoring students, and support of the group’s research activities. Extended work at CERN will be required. A doctorate degree in Physics must be completed before starting position and experience in high energy nuclear physics is expected.
