The ALICE team in Padua is soon opening a 2-year post-doc position co-funded by the STRONG2020 (GRANT AGREEMENT N.824093 WP18_NA7 CUP I54I19000610005 ) and ARCADIA (INFN Group 5 call) projects.
The successful candidate will contribute to data analysis on heavy-flavour physics in hadronic collisions, and to the development of a software interface based on the Rivet platform, aimed at facilitating the comparison of heavy-ion data with theoretical predictions. Furthermore, part of the research will focus on the characterization of silicon sensors for the ITS3 and ALICE3 upgrades, with specific tasks on sensors data readout and analysis. The balance between the activities will be defined on the basis of the selected candidate profile.
The ALICE Padua team in Padua has a long-standing experience in heavy-ion physics, in particular in the heavy-flavour sector, and it has been actively involved in the development of the SPD and, in recent years, of the new ITS detectors.
