ALICE Physics Week (12 to 16 June 2023): this week was a great occasion to review and discuss the ongoing data analyses and the future prospects with the Run 3 data and beyond. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the week and in particular the local organising team who hosted us in Bucharest.
- ALICE Week at CERN (10 to 14 July 2023): The focus of this ALICE week will be on the preparation and readiness for the upcoming heavy-ion run and the preparation of the Quark Matter conference. On Wednesday afternoon, we will have the ALICE thesis award ceremony and Tuesday evening, we will have the ALICE summer party.
- 2023 ALICE Summer Party (11 July 2023 at Point 2): We are thrilled to announce the return of our much-anticipated ALICE Summer Party! Get ready for an evening filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Please register for the party - deadline: 3 July 2023, and note that registrations received after 3 July will not be accepted due to logistics reasons.
NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
Adriana Telesca, ALICE Resource Coordinator (January 2014 to June 2023):
Adriana with Werner Riegler, Luciano Musa, and Pierre Vande Vyvre in a recent surprise party organized by the CERN ALICE team.
We would like to thank Adriana for her dedication and exceptional contributions to ALICE. With our warmest wishes for her future endeavour as Resource Manager in CMS! Adriana came to CERN as a Marie Curie fellow in 2008 in the ACEOLE project and became a CERN staff in 2012. As a part of the project, she was in charge of monitoring the DAQ machines and data quality and also participated in ALICE LS2 upgrade projects. She became the ALICE Resource Coordinator in January 2014. She also served as the Secretary of the ALICE Collaboration Board from January 2014 to December 2020 and had been ALICE Diversity Officer from its launch in August 2019 till March 2023. |

If you are interested in taking shifts during the exciting phase of the life of the collaboration and you have questions, do not hesitate to contact:
- DCS: Peter Chochula and André Augustinus
- ECS: Roberto Divia
- QC-PDP: Daniele De Gruttola and Ole Schmidt
- SL: Silvia Pisano
- RC: ALICE Run Coordination
- Missing Shift Blocks:
- SL: 2 shifters needed for HI (6 slots to be covered)
- DCS 12 shifters needed for HI (66 slots to be covered)
- ECS 13 shifters needed for HI (72 slots to be covered)
- QC 10 shifters needed for HI (54 slots to be covered)
- ALICE central operations:
- ALICE stays Super Safe with magnets ON during this week's MD1.
- ALICE Run Manager (13 - 25 June 2023): Jetnipit Kaewjai:
This week we welcome Jetnipit Kaewjai as our new ALICE Run Manager. Jetnipit is a Ph.D. Student from Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. He is working on characterising MLR1 prototype chips for the ITS3 upgrade for which he has participated in two important test beam campaigns at SPS and DESY. Jetnipit is our first Run Manager coming from the RM package. Without previous experience in central shifts, he fulfilled this year all the training and ensured all the central shift positions (QC, DCS, and ECS Shift Leader) over the past 4 months. Thanks to his strong commitment in operations this year, he is fully qualified to take over the Run Manager role for the two weeks period.During his mandate, Jetnipit will coordinate central system tests for consolidation and performances during the MD1 starting on 13 June at 3 PM. It will be followed by the TS1, starting on 19 June, during which he will coordinate detector activities in parallel with central system tests.
- ALICE stays Super Safe with magnets ON during this week's MD1.
- LHC Status: MD1 until end of this week. Technical stop during week 25.
