Abstract
The ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) at the CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) LHC (Large Hadron Collider) facility uses an integrated software framework for the design of the experimental apparatus, the evaluation of its performance and the processing of the experimental data. The author has designed this framework. It includes the event generators and the algorithms for particle transport describing the details of the interaction particles-matter (designed and implemented by the author), the reconstruction of the particle trajectories and the final physics analysis. Keywords: Heavy Ions, software, Grid, Cloud, software engineering, reconstruction, simulation, analysis
