NEWS FROM POINT 2
- The 2023 run has come to an end in the morning of Monday, 30 October 2023. During the weekend the machine provided smooth operation, and went successfully back to 1080b for the last fills.
- The final luminosity without beam background delivered to ALICE is ~1.96 nb-1 (2.16 nb-1 from the start of the HI run).
- ALICE performances have been very good. During fill 9317 (1080b, 8h09 duration) we reached the record data taking efficiency of 99.76%, with a single run of >8h collected during the fill.
- ALICE will now enter the 2023/2024 Year End Technical Stop (YETS).
- End of 2023 shifts: Monday 30 October morning shift marked the End of 2023 shifts.
A big thanks to all the Run Managers, shift crews, SRCs, on-calls and experts that contributed to the successful completion of a very challenging, and at times very hard 2023 Run!!! |

DIVERSITY
- "Work well feel well: No, no… it’s OK… Developing an awareness of health indicators": While a healthy amount of stress can provide motivation and drive, when work commitments are high, stress can negatively impact our health. It's essential to put measures in place to protect our health from the harmful effects of chronic stress.
- ALICE Diversity Office website can be accessed here. Your feedback is extremely important. You can send us an email that will be treated confidentially by using the email address: alice-diversity-office@cern.ch or send us an anonymous message by using this form.
