- LHC and P2 news:
- LHC:
During the past week, the LHC has provided stable proton-proton beams for physics for more than 50% of the time. On Wednesday, the operation was interrupted by a longer recovery cryogenic system in point 8. Further minor interruptions of the beam operations during the week were solved without causing significant downtime. On Monday morning access was granted for the exchange of emulsions in FASER and SND.
The physics production will continue over the weekend and during next week. - P2 operations:
ALICE continues to collect good physics data with high efficiency, regularly above 95% till Sunday morning. On Sunday morning, a trip of the solenoid magnet due to a water leak interrupted the data taking. The leak was fixed during an access on Monday. Another intervention in the system was necessary on Wednesday.
Due to an issue with the CRUs of TPC on Monday, data taking had to be carried out for 2.5 days without the TPC.
Physics data taking continued till the recovery of the cryogenic system on Thursday morning (including TPC).
With the current magnet polarity (+/+), which is set since the technical stop, the recorded integrated luminosity in physics fills is currently of about 4.6 pb-1 (total for both polarities: 17.3 pb-1).
