We have a new postdoc position in Experimental Nuclear Physics at University of Houston. The job link is here: https://inspirehep.net/jobs/2848601
The Department of Physics at the University of Houston seeks to fill a post doctoral research position with an experimentalist specializing in nuclear physics, pending the approval by the University of Houston Board of Regents. Exceptional candidates with a strong background in high energy nuclear physics are encouraged to apply. The local group is actively involved in ALICE at LHC, STAR at RHIC, and ePIC at the future EIC.
The successful candidate will work on data analysis within the ALICE experiment at the LHC, focusing on jet and heavy flavor probes to study Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and investigate the properties of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Additionally, they will contribute to the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) project, participating in detector simulation development for the ePIC experiment, engaging in detector R&D, and contributing to future physics programs by exploring novel observables and advanced experimental techniques.
Review of applications will begin immediately, and continue through January 15, 2024 or until the position is filled. For any questions, please contact Dr. Wenqing Fan (wfan7@uh.edu).
