Job description:
University of Silesia invites applications for associate professor in Experimental High Energy Physics, starting in 2025 (possibly march-april but can be adjusted). The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing both research and academic programs within the institution. The position offers the possibility of extension to a permanent role upon the completion of the initial contract.

Research
The successful candidate will become a member of the newly established ALICE group at the University of Silesia. The research will focus on experimental investigations of the quark-gluon plasma and studies of light-flavor resonances within the ALICE experiment at the LHC.


Teaching
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics at University of Silesia for a total of 210 hours per year. The teaching language is Polish or English. The candidate have to command of Polish that allows for conducting classes or readiness to learn Polish.

Qualifications
The candidate should have:

• A PhD in Physics, specializing in Nuclear, Hadronic or Particle Physics or a closely related field.

• Expirience in ALICE collaboration is more then welcome.
