The University of Silesia invites applications for an Associate Professor position in Experimental High Energy Physics, with an anticipated start date in autumn 2025 (August-Septemeber, flexible). The deadline for applying is 25th May 2025.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the institution's research and academic activities. The position includes the possibility of extension to a permanent role upon the completion of the initial contract.
Research
The selected candidate will join the newly established ALICE group at the University of Silesia. Research will focus on experimental studies of the quark-gluon plasma and light-flavor resonances within the ALICE experiment at the LHC.
Teaching
The position includes teaching responsibilities of 210 hours per year at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses can be conducted in Polish or English. A working knowledge of Polish or a willingness to learn the language is required.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A PhD in Physics, with a focus on Nuclear, Hadronic, or Particle Physics (or a closely related field),
- Experience within the ALICE collaboration is highly welcomed.
