Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), Mexico
Yael is a Ph.D. student at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), Mexico. Since joining ALICE in 2019, he has been working on the development and operation of scintillator detectors, including the FIT/FDD subdetector and the MID proposal for ALICE 3. Over the years, he has been actively involved in FDD operation, maintenance, performance monitoring, and aging studies, gaining extensive experience in detector operation and long-term stability analysis. As part of his service task, he collaborates with the FIT group on detector operations and performance studies and has also served as on-call for FIT.
Since 2022, he has participated in Run 3 data acquisition during both pp and Pb–Pb collisions, and has served in Shift Leader, DCS, and ECS central shifts. His Ph.D. research focuses on the proposed Muon Identifier (MID) detector for ALICE 3, involving the construction of prototypes, development of the data acquisition (DAQ) system, and active contributions to MID test beams, including coordination, operation, and data analysis of the first prototypes built for the MID chambers.
During his mandate, he will oversee the pp production period at 500 kHz with the magnets in negative/negative configuration.
