Sahil Upadhyaya is a physicist at IFJ PAN, Kraków, and a member of the ALICE FIT detector group. He is also active within PWG-DQ, where he works on measurements of the low-mass Drell–Yan process at forward rapidity using the capabilities of the ALICE Muon Arm (MFT, MCH, and MID) during LHC Runs 3 and 4.
Since joining ALICE in 2023, he has been actively involved in the maintenance and operation of the FIT detectors. During this period, he served as the FIT System Run Coordinator (SRC) in 2025 and currently serves as the FIT Deputy SRC in 2026. Since January 2025, he has also been the technical coordinator of the FIT software.
Over the years, he has participated in operations at Point 2 through numerous DCS and SL shifts, and this will be his first mandate as Run Manager. During this mandate, Sahil will oversee the final phase of the 2026 running period as well as the concluding stage of LHC Run 3, including the High-Intensity beam tests.
