Grade 7: £29,541 - £36,298 p.a.
The Sub-department of Particle Physics at the University of Oxford is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral research assistant to work on the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment and on Cryogenic Scintillator Thermometry.

This is a 2-year fixed-term full-time appointment.

LZ will feature a multi-tonne liquid xenon target to cover the entire parameter space favoured by the leading theories of particle dark matter. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in Particle Physics or a related field and will make a major contribution to the detector system of the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) dark matter detector. In addition, (s)he will assist in the implementation of a temperature monitoring system based on inorganic scintillators.
