Postdoctoral Research Assistant - T2K experiment
Particle Physics, Denys Wilkinson Building, Keble Road, Oxford
Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.
The sub-department of Particle Physics at the University of Oxford is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral research assistant to work on the T2K experiment (3 year fixed-term full-time contract).

T2K will measure the neutrino oscillation parameters with unprecedented precision, especially the appearance of electron neutrinos. The Oxford Group is heavily involved in the near detector DAQ, the online monitoring systems and provides support at the near detector in Tokai. We are working on measuring neutrino cross sections using the near detector and the oscillation analysis. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in particle physics or related field. He/she is expected to strengthen our activities and to take a leading role. There might also be an opportunity to be involved in preparing the next generation of LBL experiments.

The normal place of work will be in Oxford, but some travel and work away from Oxford may be required, normally not more than a total of 16 weeks per year. When based in Oxford, teaching duties of up to 3 hours per week during University term may be required.

Informal enquiries about this post may be made to Professor A Weber, email: a.weber1@physics.ox.ac.uk.
