Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.
The John Adams Institute for Accelerator Science at the University of Oxford is seeking two highly qualified postdoctoral research assistants to be based in Oxford for work on development of beam delivery systems, and related beam dynamics, instrumentation, feedback and control systems, for application to future electron-positron colliders.

The John Adams Institute is one of the world leading centres in the area of beam delivery systems for future colliders. We contribute to the international design efforts on CLIC and ILC, and in particular to the design of very fast beam-based feedback, feed-forward and instrumentation/control systems via the Feedback On Nanosecond Timescales (FONT) project. The successful candidates will be involved in the design, development, deployment and operation of beam delivery and related systems, including the opportunity for periods of research at international beam test facilities.

The successful candidates will be employed by the University of Oxford full time for a fixed-term of 2 years in the first instance.

The successful candidates will hold a PhD in accelerator physics or a related field. Teaching duties up to 3 hours per week during University term may be required.

Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Philip Burrows p.burrows@physics.ox.ac.uk.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.

Please read the "Person Specification and Job Description" before preparing your application.
