The Sub-department of Particle Physics, University of Oxford is seeking a highly qualified full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work on DUNE on a 2 year fixed-term contract with possibility of a 1 year extension, subject to funding.

DUNE is one of the major upcoming neutrino oscillation experiments to measure neutrino oscillation parameters with unprecedented precision, to determine the neutrino mass hierarchy and search for leptonic CP-violation. The Oxford Group is involved in development of the near detector (ND), the DAQ and a 35-ton prototype. The postholder is expected to have a PhD in particle physics or related field, to play a central role in developing the DAQ components, to have a proven record of high quality research and be part of a team developing a ND concept to minimize systematic uncertainties. The group has access to data from other neutrino oscillation experiments (T2K, MicroBooNE) to guide the ND design.
