The John Adams Institute is seeking a postdoctoral research assistant to work on optics and energy deposition studies of the interaction region of the Future Circular Collider. The successful candidate will hold a Doctorate in accelerator science or related fields and will have a proven record of high quality research, knowledge of particle optics design methods and codes, knowledge of energy deposition codes, excellent ability in programing languages and MatLab or similar tools.

The funding for this post is provided by EuroCirCol EU project. The appointment is full-time, fixed-term (2 year) contract with possibility for extension to third year depending on availability of funding. The position will be based in Oxford and may involve teaching duties of up to 3 hours per week during the University term. Whilst the role is a Grade 7 position, we would be willing to consider candidates with potential but less experience who are seeking a development opportunity, for which an initial appointment would be at Grade 6 (£27,057 - £32,277 p.a.) with the responsibilities adjusted accordingly.
