Faculty Position in Experimental Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor position in experimental nuclear and elementary particle physics with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2016.   Qualified applicants for associate professor and professor ranks may also be considered.  The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and also a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, the graduate student population, and the majors in physics and astronomy.  The UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy has active research programs in nuclear and particle physics that include heavy ion collisions at RHIC, collider physics at the CMS experiment at the LHC, direct dark matter detection using noble liquids, indirect searches for dark matter, high-energy gamma-ray astrophysics, searches for ultra-high-energy cosmic neutrinos, and neutrinoless double beta decay.   Candidates from all areas of experimental nuclear and particle physics are invited to apply.  A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
