ATLAS and CMS announce the fifth joint workshop on electronics for the High Luminosity LHC (ACES 2016)

This workshop will be dedicated to electronic issues for upgrades, focusing on subjects where common features or developments are likely.
Developments for upgrades for proton-proton and heavy ion running for Phase I and for high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will be included. The following main areas will be covered:

(1) Front-end electronics developments for Phase I and HL-LHC
(2) Electronics systems for triggering at Phase I and HL-LHC, including level-1 tracking trigger and the use of modular electronics standards such as xTCA
(3) Electronics systems for DAQ at HL-LHC exploring the possibility of limiting the proliferation of readout systems
(4) High precision timing measurement and clock distribution systems
(5) Optical and electrical links
(6) Power distribution and low power design techniques
(7) Progress on upgrades for HL-LHC

The workshop will last 6 half-days and take place at CERN on 7 – 10 March 2016

Registration is free, but participants should register online before 01 March 2016. A preliminary web page is available at

https://aces.web.cern.ch/aces/aces2016/ACES2016.htm.

Information about the programme will appear on the website shortly. The oral presentations will be made by invitation. A poster session will be organised for which abstracts will have to be submitted on the indico page.
More details can be obtained in contacting a member of the programme committee:

Anna Colaleo (INFN BARI)
Christophe de la Taille (IN2P3 OMEGA)

Evelyne Dho (Evelyne.Dho@cern.ch) will provide administrative assistance. More information about the organization will be available later.

You are recommended to book accommodation as early as possible as there is the Geneva « Salon de l’Auto » at that date.
If you book your room at CERN hostel, please specify « ACES 2016 », a block of rooms have been specially booked for the workshop.

We look forward to seeing you at CERN in March.
