Postdoctoral position at Michigan State University on T2K and DUNE neutrino experiments.
The neutrino group in the Michigan State University Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking qualified applicants for a postdoctoral research position on the Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) and Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) experiments.

The T2K experiment is currently running in Japan and has an exciting program of neutrino oscillation physics and neutrino interaction measurements. The MSU group, led by Prof. Kendall Mahn, focuses on the role of neutrino interactions in oscillation measurements. Neutrino interactions are expected to be significant in the goals of future experiments, like DUNE, which will search for CP violation in the neutrino sector. The successful candidate will take a leading role on neutrino interaction modeling and physics on T2K and DUNE simulation studies. In addition, the MSU group is involved in testing of DUNE cold electronics.  Significant travel to Japan (of at least 25%) for T2K is expected.

Applications will be considered from individuals with a PhD in physics or a related field, with preference given to those with strong backgrounds in particle physics, astrophysics or cosmic ray physics. Proficiency in C++ or a similar computer language is essential; hardware experience is desirable. Interested individuals should submit at least 3 letters of recommendation, a cover letter, CV, and a statement of research background and interests through the MSU hiring website:  https://jobs.msu.edu referencing position 4436.

Review of applications will commence Nov 29th 2016, and will continue until the position is filled, with a start date of March 1st, 2017 or as mutually agreed upon. For further information on this position, please contact Prof. Kendall Mahn at mahn@pa.msu.edu.
