Nuclear matter phase structure group at the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP), Lanzhou, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions to begin in summer 2020 (dates are flexible). The successful candidate is expected to participate in one or more of the following experimental researches
1. Analysis of data to be collected in the STAR Beam Energy Scan II program, as well as related shift and detector calibration work. We encourage a wide range of analysis with emphasis on the search for signal of the first-order phase transition and the critical point in the QCD phase diagram.
2. Work on CBM@FAIR or/and MPD@NICA related detector simulation, event reconstruction and physics analysis method development.
3. CSR External-target Experiment (CEE) related detector simulation, tracking reconstruction, event reconstruction and physics analysis method development. CEE is a spectrometer for studying properties of nuclear matter at 2-3 saturation density, which is fully funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
The candidate would be based at Lanzhou with possible stays at Brookhaven National Lab depending on the applicant's preference and the experiment needs.
We will offer a competitive salary. The appointment is initially for two years. The expected applicants should have a Ph.D degree in particle physics and/or nuclear physics by the date of appointment. Experience with data analysis in big collaborations is preferred. Interested candidates should send a CV and a cover letter briefly describing their work and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent through the AJO webpage:

Review of the applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
