- ALICE Mini Week: 19-23 April.
NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Update on the COVID19 Guidelines: https://hse.cern/covid-19-information
Frequently Asked Questions: COVID FAQ page.
New this week:
- CERN's current teleworking measures have been extended until 14 May.
- Evolution of COVID-19 cases at CERN can be found here.
- Additional measures in place in the Department of Ain (France), which can be found here.
In the Department of Ain, the new measures include wearing of masks for all those over 11 when within 50 meters of a range of public buildings, as well as at all times while outdoors in a number of large communities. In the Pays de Gex, these are Divonne, Ferney-Voltaire, Gex and Saint-Genis-Pouilly. It is also forbidden to consume alcohol or play loud music in public places, and home-deliveries are banned after 10.00 pm. Events such as jumble sales and garage sales are also banned (brocantes, vide-greniers and braderies). The new restrictions are similar in Haute-Savoie.
- Measures in Switzerland: details in the website here. The canton of Geneva also publishes useful information on travel and quarantine: in the link here.
- As of 7 April, COVID-19 self-tests are available in Swiss pharmacies: details in the link here.
For any information and support regarding the quarantine period contact ALICE-covid19-coordination@cern.ch
- ALICE secretariat opening next week: Tuesday 13 April from 8h30 to 12h30 and from 13h30 to 17h30.
The ALICE secretariat will be exceptionally closed from 2 - 5 April.

NEWS FROM POINT 2
Surface commissioning, commissioning at P2 and lab. and remote commissioning are progressing well for all central and subsystems.
The main highlights of this week:
- L3 magnet: L3 magnet was ramped up to 30kA without any issues.
- TPC: TPC took cosmic data with solenoid filed in standalone with continuous running. TPC installed shielding fins on VTRx, optical signal degradation being monitored.
- ITS: ITS OB serviced installed and verification ongoing. First data readout will be tested this week.
- MFT: MFT tests under the magnet were successful. Full chain readout was validated for Pb-Pb hit occupancies.
- MW4 (Milestone Week 4): Preparatory work ongoing for MW4 next week (12 - 17 April). Main objectives are ECS-DCS integration for SoR/EoR, full system tests from FLP, and combined runs with online data processing.
