The Physics department at Syracuse University is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral research associate who will work in Experimental High Energy Physics on the LHCb experiment and its Upgrades. The group is involved in diverse research activities such as analyses of LHCb data, the installation and commissioning of the Upstream Tracker detector for the current LHCb upgrade and is starting a program of hardware R&D and simulation towards the electromagnetic calorimeter for Upgrade II.

The successful applicant is expected to be involved in data analysis within the LHCb collaboration, with primary focus on novel approaches to explore rare penguin decays, and contribute to the electromagnetic calorimeter simulation for Upgrade II.

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in experimental particle physics or expect to graduate before the start of employment. The initial appointment is for one year with possibility of renewal. Candidates should submit their curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a short description of their qualifications, and the e-mail addresses/phone numbers of three references to the online position posting.
