The Heavy-Ion Group at the MIT Laboratory of Nuclear Science invites applications for a postdoctoral research position. The group has leading roles in QCD studies in nucleus-nucleus and proton-nucleus collisions with the CMS experiment at LHC and sPHENIX at RHIC.

The successful candidate will play a major role in data taking and in the analysis of data from the experiments. The candidate will also provide an essential contribution to the development of the tracking silicon detector of the ePIC experiment at the Electron-Ion Collider, which will exploit CMOS Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors. The R&D activities for the ePIC silicon tracker, will be carried out at CERN and at MIT. Consequently, a strong background in silicon detector technologies, sensor characterization and data-acquisition techniques is desirable.

Review of applications will begin immediately, and the position will remain open until filled. To ensure full consideration, candidates should apply by August 1, 2023.

Job Requirements: Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in Physics or Electronics.
