- LHC and ALICE:
- pp Production period in LHC is ongoing. Next week: Machine development from Monday to Friday.
- A recurrent issue with the Power interlock controller caused several beam dumps during the last week. Could be fixed during an access
- General access on Wednesday, use by several systems, also for fiber was checked in TPC, and patch cord replaced in ITS
- ALICE data taking is continuing very smoothly. A total luminosity of 36.0/pb of pp data was recorded.
- During the next week, several software checks during the MD are scheduled.
- Current Run Manager (29 Sep - 12 Oct): Laura Maria Huhta:
Laura is a PhD student from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She has worked on the Forward Calorimeter upgrade for ALICE Run 4, focusing on the study of the jet performance of the calorimeter using simulations. She has also been involved in the physics data analysis of Run 2 data, analyzing the invariant mass of dijets in pp and p-Pb collisions.
Over the past years, Laura has taken central shifts (ECS, DCS, SL) and is now starting her first Run Manager term. During her mandate, she will cover the continuation of the pp production. Additionally, she will also manage the operation during the MD period.
