LHC and ALICE:
- During the last week, the pp production continued. After the issue with the RF module in 6L2, only the intensity in beam 2 was increased up to 1.8E11 protons per bunch, keeping beam 1 intensity at 1.4E11.
- The background contribution at P2 is still under control. Background from A-Side decreased even due to the reduced bunch intensity.
- ALICE data taking was still running smoothly. So far, 45.8/pb were recorded.
- On Thursday morning, the last software update before the Pb-PB period was carried out. The software is being frozen until the end of Pb-Pb data-taking.
- pp production will finish on 5th November, followed by three days of machine development. Afterwards, the HI period will begin, starting with 4 days of commissioning and TS2.
