The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Bonn invites applications for a W3 Professorship for Theoretical Physics of the Strong Interaction, to be filled at the Helmholtz-Institute for Radiation and Nuclear Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

The research area of this professorship focuses on the investigation of strongly interacting quantum systems in theoretical hadron, nuclear, and/or particle physics using modern non-perturbative methods. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the existing research programs in Bonn, including the Cluster of Excellence “Color meets flavor” and the Collaborative Research Center “NuMeriQS: Numerical Methods for Dynamics and Structure Formation in Quantum Systems.”

The position includes teaching responsibilities at all levels (bachelor to graduate) in physics.

This professorship is the succession to Ulf Meißner and represents a highly renowned position in theoretical physics.
