Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The University of Tsukuba will conduct a university-wide open recruitment limited to female researchers, following the initiative implemented in the previous academic year.
In last year’s recruitment, the University received a large number of applications from outstanding researchers whose work was expected to contribute significantly to the enhancement of the University’s research capacity. As a result, the University was able to appoint 14 researchers.
For the current academic year, the University has established 19 positions exclusively for female researchers as part of a university-wide effort to further strengthen its research capabilities.
This recruitment concerns 16 positions intended for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Assistant Professor, and is open to applicants from all research fields, without restriction by discipline, through a single, centralized call.
This initiative constitutes a positive action measure under Article 8 of the Act on Securing, Etc. of Equal Opportunity and Treatment between Men and Women in Employment. It aims to address the continuing underrepresentation of female faculty members and to promote more innovative research and education through the incorporation of diverse perspectives. -
