ONGOING AND UPCOMING EVENTS
 A major milestone on the road to ALICE 3: On 23 September 2026, the first ALICE 3 collaboration agreement, covering the magnet prototype with the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), was signed by Antonio José Roque da Silva, Director-General of CNPEM, and Gautier Hamel de Monchenault, Director for Research and Computing at CERN. The agreement covers the design, construction and testing of an ALICE 3 superconducting solenoid prototype, including insulation and impregnation qualification, splice development, and winding and tooling trials. The main deliverable is a fully fabricated and cold-tested superconducting prototype coil, with the programme planned for late 2026–2028/2029. This marks an important milestone towards realizing ALICE 3. Congratulations to all involved. |
