| ALICE Italia 2026: the Italian ALICE community meets in Vercelli |
![]() The third edition of ALICE Italia took place in Vercelli from 27 to 30 October 2026, hosted by the Università del Piemonte Orientale (UPO). The meeting brought together colleagues from across the Italian ALICE community, with more than 50 presentations covering ongoing activities and future plans in computing, physics and detector upgrades, including ITS3 and ALICE 3. The sessions offered opportunities to share results and experience, coordinate activities across institutes and connect current analyses with preparations for the experiment’s future. As part of its outreach programme, the meeting included a public lecture by Nicolò Jacazio, taking the local community on a journey from ordinary matter to the quark-gluon plasma and explaining how ALICE studies it. This was followed by an interactive session featuring Marta Razza and Fabrizio Chinu, recipients of the ALICE Breakthrough Prize PhD grant, who shared their experiences as PhD students at CERN with UPO physics students. Informal exchanges and the social dinner continued the discussions beyond the meeting room, while giving participants a taste of Vercelli and its local traditions. |
