Silicon Detector Development Engineer
The Sub-department of Particle Physics is seeking an exceptional engineer or applied physicist to take a leading role in the production and development of silicon detectors for particle physics, and their associated support systems.
2+1-year postdoctoral position
The CMS group of the Laboratoire Leprince-Ringuet (LLR) at the École polytechnique (Palaiseau, France), is inviting applications for a 2+1-year postdoctoral position scheduled to start as early as possible in 2020. The first applications will be reviewed around mid-March, and until the position is filled.
LLR is based in the Paris area, at the École polytechnique.
LHCb Silicon Development Position with Manchester
The LHCb VELO Upgrade I is a hybrid pixel vertex detector based on the VELOPix ASIC, a development from the Medipix/Timepix family, and uses CO2 cooling in a microchannel substrate. The sensors will be operated in vacuum and only 5mm from the LHC beam. The VELO Upgrade I starts operation in 2021.
