Postdoctoral Fellow in the STAR experiment and the ePIC experiment at BNL (USA)

Submitted by alicesec on

The Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Aademy of Sciences is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Ultrarelativistic Heavy Ion Group that investigates the properties of hot and dense nuclear matter, the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). The research is being conducted as a part of our participation in the STAR experiment at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and the ALICE experiment at CERN. In addition, the group is currently expanding its focus on the new ePIC experiment, which is being prepared for the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) at BNL.

Postdoc Position at Yale in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Group

Submitted by alicesec on

We are happy to announce an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Group at Yale University. Our group is involved in research in the ALICE Collaboration at CERN and the STAR Collaboration at BNL. We also have ongoing R&D projects at Yale Wright Laboratory as members of the ePIC Collaboration at the future EIC.

PhD position on novel intelligent algorithms for real-time reconstruction for the HL-LHC Nikhef Amsterdam

Submitted by alicesec on
Nikhef is looking for a PhD candidate for the study of novel intelligent algorithms for real-time reconstruction to be deployed at HL-LHC. The successful candidate will start by studying the physics requirements and constraints of the various use cases, namely track reconstruction in ALICE,LHCb and a test-beam setup for prototype sensors. Requirements such as reconstruction efficiency and fake-rate as a function of particlemomentum will be considered together with constraints such as magnetic field configuration and detector geometry.

Assistant Professor in High Energy Nuclear Physics University of Birmingham

Submitted by alicesec on

The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Birmingham seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor with expertise and a demonstrated scientific track record in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion physics, to make a leading contribution to the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC. The successful applicant is also expected to play a leading role in the nuclear physics group’s ambitions beyond LHC Run 4, for example ALICE3.

Post-Doctoral position in ALICE group at SUBATECH Nantes

Submitted by alicesec on

The ALICE group at SUBATECH, Nantes,  is proposing a 2 years post-doc position to study heavy flavour production in heavy ion collisions at LHC in the muonic decay channels. This work will be carried out in the framework of the study of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) and will focus on the understanding of the quarkonia production mechanisms and QGP hadronisation mechanisms. The work will be focused on  Run 3 LHC data analysis.
