Covid-19: CERN will be moving to Level 1 - GREEN from Monday 14 March.
Here are details of Level 1. For the complete picture, please consult the link here. The main features are:
- Basic hygiene measures of hand washing and disinfecting still apply;
- Masks are no longer mandatory unless otherwise specified, for example in CERN Shuttles.
- Please respect colleagues who choose to continue wearing masks;
- 1.5 m distancing must be respected in offices;
- The layout and operation of restaurants are kept unchanged (per Level 2 - Yellow) for the time being. New provisions will be decided by HSE and SCE and implemented gradually;
- Meeting rooms may be used at half capacity, with proper ventilation recommended;
- On-site working is the norm with teleworking possible according to OC7, which allows 40% of contractual hours of telework in any two-week period. In case of specific needs, such as vulnerabilities for example, members of personnel should discuss individual arrangements with their supervisor;
- It is no longer obligatory to carry proximeters, though you should keep yours safe in case it is needed in the future;
- If you have symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19 or are a close contact, you must still declare on TRAMED.
- Self-testing at CERN for those without symptoms. Self test available also at ALICE Point-2. You are encouraged to take a test at least once per week. You must have completed beforehand the eLearning: COVID-19 - Self-testing at CERN / Auto-tests au CERN and you must sign-up for each self-test using the PLAMED tool.
- COVID-19 vaccination at CERN: The vaccination service is available by appointment only at the infirmary until the end of March. Those interested in receiving a vaccine should register for an appointment on PLAMED. Please note that vaccination slots are limited to certain days and times, according to demand.
Appointments can be made for vaccination in France and Switzerland using the links for France, Geneva, and Vaud.
- Measures in France: Mask wearing will no longer be mandatory in France except on public transport and in hospitals and health centres as of 14 March. The pass vaccinal requirement will also be lifted as of that date. Details are available here (last updated 7 March).
- Measures in Switzerland: There have been no further changes to the measures in place in Switzerland since those announced by the Federal Council on 16 February: please consult the link here.
- Travel:
- France: There have been no changes since last week to the conditions for international travel to and from France, which are available here. People arriving in France must still complete a declaration form, which is available here in several languages.
- Switzerland: There have been no changes to the conditions for international travel to and from Switzerland. Information on entering Switzerland is available here.
