NEWS FROM POINT 2
- ALICE: YETS activity is continuing.
- YETS activity is continuing.
- ALICE is proceeding with the collection of cosmics data for the central barrel alignment.
- 231 hours of cosmics data have been collected so far, corresponding to 96% of the target.
- On Thursday, February 12th the Annual LHC-EXP Handshake and Communications Test was performed successfully. Anyhow, some of the foreseen tests had to be postponed to Tuesday, 17 February at 10:00.
- On Wednesday, 18 February, further tests on the ALICE solenoid power converter will be performed to assess the operational status of the thyristors.
- Open shift blocks (to be filled urgently):
If you have any question about the training and, overall, on how to get ready to cover these earlier shifts do not hesitate to contact us (alice-rc@cern.ch). Dedicated trainings can be arranged.

- Current Run Manager (9 - 22 Feb): Peiyu LI
Peiyu is a Ph.D. student from the China Institute of Atomic Energy in Beijing. Previously, she worked on the R&D of Micro Pattern Gas Detectors, focusing on detector construction and testing procedures. As part of those R&D activities, she also built several imaging systems based on MPGD detectors. She started her Ph.D. thesis in which she contributes to the R&D and testing of TPC detectors. Peiyu was Run Manager in 2024 (through the RM package) and in 2025, and this is her third term.
During her present mandate she will follow the cosmics data taking for the central barrel alignement.
