- Big thanks to Marie Germain, who ended her mandate as the Chair of the Conference Committee at the end of March. Please continue to use the alice-cc-chairs@cern.ch address for communication which allows your messages to be processed more easily.
- Reminder from Conference Committee Chair: Please try to respect as closely as possible the deadlines for submission of abstracts of "at least 7 days prior to the submission deadline of the conference” according to the ALICE constitution. Recently we had abstracts only 1-2 days from the deadline which is not realistic for obtaining multiple approvals. Additionally Team Leader approval is a mandatory step.

NEWS FROM POINT 2
- LHC and ALICE
- LHC continued with pp production at low mu. During the last weekend, the vdM programs of the different experiments have been completed. LHC then resumed the low-mu program at full machine, that was stopped for an access that took place on Thursday morning, and tests on RF at injection and loss maps for the 3-TeV cycle (the latter to be exploited during the high-intensity test) followed.
- ALICE continued with the data taking at 500 kHz with positive/positive magnet polarities. On Friday, April 17th the van der Meer scan for pp was successfully completed. During the vdM scans of the other experiments ALICE collected data at different mu values. In the next fills at full machine, some special runs requested by the lumi group to study the difference in efficiencies observed between FT0 and FDD have been collected. On Tuesday, a circuit break in a rack connected to the EMCAL prevented the calorimeter from being included in the data taking, and was eventually fixed during the access on Thursday morning. During the latter, the magnet polarities have been reverted to the negative/negative configuration.
