The successful applicant is expected to play a leading role in the analysis of ATLAS data to measure properties of the Higgs boson and of the top quark and to participate in the development and simulation of the HGTD. 

The successful candidate will join the UA CMS group that is involved in measurements of the top quark properties and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model with top quarks in the final state, as well as Phase-II detector upgrades. Additionally, the University of Alabama is involved in direct dark matter detection, the intensity frontier and particle astrophysics experiments (IceCube, Exo-200, LZ, MiniBoone, MoEDAL and VERITAS experiments) as well as high-energy theory and phenomenology.

The Department of Physics at the University of Liverpool is one of the worldwide construction sites for the upgrade of the Inner Tracker (ITk) for the high-luminosity upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at CERN¿s Large Hadron Collider.
